Affinity has rolled out a complete redesign of its creative suite, merging its vector, photo, and layout tools into a single app — now free for everyone.
“There’s no catch, no stripped-back version,” said Affinity CEO Ash Hewson. “The same professional tools that creators rely on are now open to all, because creative freedom shouldn’t come with a cost.”
The new app features a unified workspace where users can switch seamlessly between design modes and customize their interface. Creatives can mix and match tools, save multiple setups, and even share personalized studios with others.

Developed with input from Canva’s Designer Advisory Board, the update focuses on performance, reliability, and flexibility. It also deepens integration with Canva — Canva Premium users can now access Canva AI Studio directly inside Affinity, featuring tools like Generative Fill and Remove Background.

Affinity says all AI features are privacy-safe and that users’ work won’t be used to train models. The integration also enables smoother project sharing between Affinity and Canva, bridging the two creative ecosystems.
