Philippine Airlines (PAL) has officially relaunched Mabuhay Magazine with its Homecoming Issue (October–December 2025), marking the return of its flagship inflight publication. The unveiling took place at Blackbird — the historic former Nielson Tower and Manila’s first airport control tower — setting the perfect backdrop for a revival rooted in heritage and identity.

The event gathered PAL executives, contributors, partners, and members of the media, all celebrating Mabuhay’s renewed presence onboard. Guests enjoyed a thoughtfully curated menu by Blackbird that reimagined Filipino classics, paired with a warm, modern Filipino soundscape by Mike Constantino and his band, Conscious & the Goodness.
In his remarks, Lucio C. Tan III, President & CEO of PAL Holdings, emphasized the magazine’s refreshed editorial mission. The Homecoming Issue, he shared, offers “a window into what makes the Philippine identity unique,” blending legacy and contemporary voices through stories of memory, holiday traditions, innovation, and the many ways Filipinos return to where they belong.

Steering the publication’s rebirth are Editors-in-Chief Pauline Suaco-Juan and Erwin Romulo — both highly respected figures in Philippine media and culture. Pauline brings her deep experience championing Filipino talent and design, while Erwin’s multidisciplinary influence across publishing, music, and film has shaped modern cultural narratives. Together, they describe the relaunch as a celebration of homecoming in all its forms. Speaking to adobo Magazine, Erwin noted that Mabuhay aims to embrace stories “from the 7,641 islands and the Filipino communities all over the world.”
The Homecoming Issue’s cover, illustrated by Raxenne Maniquiz, pays homage to National Artist Lauro “Larry” Alcala and his beloved “Slice of Life” series. Inside, readers will find contributions from Alcala, Doreen Fernandez, Philbert Dy, Rica Buenaflor, Iya Forbes, Mark Nicdao, and more. With its return, Mabuhay Magazine reclaims its place as a vibrant platform for Philippine travel, culture, and storytelling — honoring the spirit of homecoming and the creativity that connects Filipinos, wherever they may be.
